Mac OS 7 was a major change from the earlier System Software, introducing integrated multitasking, a revamped desktop, networking, and transitioning the name from 'Macintosh System Software' To 'MacOS'. It was followed by by MacOS 8.x.

Running Mac OS 7.x requires a Motorola 68000 based Macintosh, a supported model of Power PC based Macintosh (7.1 or later) or one of the following emulators:

Inspired by Dick Koch's award-winning TeXShop program for Mac OS X, it makes entry into the TeX world easier for those using desktop operating systems other than OS X. It provides an integrated, easy-to-use environment for users on other platforms particularly GNU/Linux and Windo. RC plane simulator Phoenix RC Mac OSX.

Installation instructions

Note: Some of these CD images are actually hard disk volumes. You can mount those in an emulator, or some older CD burning programs know how to write them as a CD/ISO.

Smartpropoplus Mac Os Mojave

7.5.5 is the last supported version on Mac Plus, XL, Mac II, IIx, LC, IIcx, and SE/30, or anything with less than 68030 and 32-bit clean ROM.

You might be able to get the Devo 7 connected using a 22 in 1 simulator dongle. Not sure if that particular transmitter/dongle/combination will work on a Mac though.

Smartpropoplus Mac Os High Sierra

On Windows it might be possible to get the Devo 7 working as a joystick by connecting via a regular mono 3.5mm audio cable along with a software called Smartpropoplus.

Here is an equivalent to that software on Mac: https://github.com/albhm/macPPM

I haven't tried it though (I'm not a Mac user myself). It will probably require some serious hacking skills to get it working.

There is some more general information in the user manual.

I think one of the best options is to get a multi protocol radio, such as one of the Jumper radios. I think a Jumper T8SG can be found for about 90 USD for example. That can be used to fly most real RC models, as well as function as a USB joystick.

You might be able to find a Radiomaster TX16S for about the same price too (although the chepest version is not multi protocol out of the box as far as I know).

Perhaps there are cheaper multi protocol alternatives too. I recommend researching for find the best alternative for you.

Otherwise, if you don't need multi protocol, I think the Devo 7E for example can be found for about 75 USD. And the Turnigy-TGY-i6S for about 60USD. I think it will not be easy to find an option much cheaper these days.

(Perhaps if you get a dummy transmitter, but that can't be used for actual RC control of course. This is about 40 USD, not sure if it will work on a Mac though).
